International funding organisations are investing in creating tourism infrastructure in developing countries, for tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world – and a part of the service sector, i.e. a low-investment, high-yield activity with controllable impact and thus potentially sustainable. dit&idt builds partnerships with companies in other sectors – mainly engineering or project management – when tourism capacity building in countries beneficiary of international funding is involved.
We participate in international consortiums as the tourism experts. Since 1999, we have worked closely with national, regional and local tourism boards in two of the leading destinations in the world. dit&idt are proud to be a part of the extraordinary process Spain has been leading for two decades, developing some of the most emblematic products and destinations in the market. With 52.2 million international visitors, Spain was third in the ranking of world destinations. Mexico is currently undergoing this same process, and in which we are participating as well, and in 2009 the country was the 10th destination worldwide, with 21.5 million visitors. Our projects have taken us to Spain and Mexico, and also to Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and El Salvador. Our experience in mature and developing destinations is unmatched.
