The value of our brand
![]()
Brands represent businesses, the people who build them and the services they offer; but brands should also convey the quality of the work well done and the values we stand by.
Since 1992, dit has evolved and reinvented itself, striving to always stay a step ahead of its time. Our brand came along and adapted each time to communicate those qualities that set us apart from the rest. Our values remain: we work to provide the best value possible to our clients. We built our reputation on the grounds of honesty, reliability, creativity and trust.
The new scenario for tourism demands new approaches, thus our vision has evolved overtime. In 2012 we are launching our new brand, theglobaldit, made up by three components:
the: we utilise the article because it perfectly coveys our philosophy of work: "one project at a time". We do not develop generic products. Each project deserves personalised attention and is individually conceived and executed.
global: we rescued "global" from our web domain. It was initially there because we provide a comprehensive range of services. Today, it reinforces our compromise with our international expansion.
dit: obviously the company should still be a part of the brand... In Spanish, dit is the acronym for Tourism Development and Innovation. We are experts in tourism. Just tourism.
Where we are going
![]()
We always planned how we wanted to be and how we wanted to evolve.
We are living exciting times these days. The digital era is reshaping society and tourism has become a global, complex industry.
We are growing and expanding our markets, keeping an open perspective. We are consolidating collaborative relationships with the best professionals from the sector and from other disciplines, collecting expertise to generate added value for our clientes. Because our goal is to become a firm of reference for the sector, internationally.
The story
![]()
...we are still growing. We always felt drawn towards the most strategic aspects of tourism. We started out with FUTURES, the first competitiveness plan for Spanish tourism. We have since walked alongside Spain in its transformation into a global leader in tourism, both in terms of results and knowledge. But we also explored wider horizons and our focus adapted to the reality of the American continent.
Where we come from, very briefly. dit was founded in 1992. For the last 20 years the small firm has grown to become in one of the leading advisory firms in Spain and Latin America. We always looked beyond the borders. In 1994 we landed in Colombia when the country was not yet the modern Colombia it is today, and the coffee plantations were just beginning to open to tourism. In 1999 we arrived in Morelia, a World Heritage Site in the Mexican Bajío, at the time when the city took the step to transform its cobbled streets into the best known cultural destination in the country. That was the start of our Mexican sister company, idt, now an expert firm with 110+ projects on its back.
Today idt works across the country in colonial cities, beaches and jungles, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Sea of Cortez. Mexico has been a second home, a great country which has taught us so much. But besides Mexico, we have also worked in Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador and, quite intensely in 2012, Argentina, a country which has taken us to the very end of the world, and where we continue to grow.
Today, in the second decade of the 21st century, we continue to develop new skills and explore new products to provide even greater value to our clients. Because both them and ourselves want to be a part of the industry (r)evolution taking place nowadays.

With our clients. At the destinations. On the web.
Our teams fly and navigate. They fly, because tourism are real experiences, real businesses and busy government agencies, and our job is to be there, on site, with our clients. They navigate, because we use the Web to manage, to communicate, to maintain conversation, to provoke and to measure results.

team
We are the sum of 40 different talents, specialties and interests.
We have an in-house team organised in the areas of strategy, operations, design and user experience. A team of collaborators is on call for those times when we need super-specialised knowledge, unusual talent or a fresh perspective. Depending on the task our team will welcome an award-winning researcher, the former manager of one of the leading museums in the world, digital specialists, operations managers of hotel chains and also brilliant former clients who are now friends.
We keep our minds and our doors open. We feel proud of the job well done and vigorously defend good ideas. Sometimes, quite vigorously.

Ideation
Tono is an expert in tourism policy, and gets particularly involved in promoting leadership within organisations, building future scenarios based on consensus and effective public action.
Collaboration
Creating work environments conducive to success is Tono's specialty. For example, the Don Vasco Route - one of our dearest projects for its social projection and universal values - was conceived as a tourism product which could contribute
to the social and economic development of participating Purepecha communities. Introducing tourism as an option for development was not easy under the given circumstances - impact on communities must be measured. To launch the Route, Tono led the SECTUR Michoacan into a co-ordination model involving every institution involved, at all levels. Beyond co-ordination, stakeholders had to assimilate the Route as their own. The model has produced excellent results.
Transformation
No transformation is possible without the involvement of the sector. Tono has participated in every large-scale tourism planning programmes in Spain, and for the last years also in Mexico. In both countries he has led over 500 competitiveness projects for the sector such us the Quality Clubs, with extraordinary results. An engaging communicator, he can motivate and move the most challenging audiences. Sharing his expertise is one of his passions, thus he has trained 8.000+ professionals.
About Tono
Tono is leadership, thrust and passion. He possesses an innate ability to negotiate and reach consensus, maintaining - and demanding - an ethical compromise with everything he does.
Passionate about food, he takes on a pilgrimage to culinary temples whenever he gets the chance. An excellent host, his cellar always produces bottles of some legendary champagne to treat his guests.
Tono earned his degree in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Valencia, and is specialised in planning and growth. He is a member of the Spanish Association for Strategic Planning (AESPLAN), and the Foundation for Ethics in Businesses and Organisations (ETNOR).
Ideation
John is quite a visual person. He draws when he is thinking. He illustrates his explanations. The creative process for a new project turns the walls of his office, one after the other, into giant boards where ideas take shape as they are discussed, discarded or developed. Even the windows end up all scribbled up. He takes notes on his trusted companion the Moleskine notebook. His collection of old notebooks resembles some sort of theglobaldit diaries, the annotated memory of years of work.
Collaboration
John finds best the best co-working formulas and adapts them to each scenario. As an expert in developing innovative perspectives to the design of public policies, he pioneered the use of technology to improve the efficiency of public action, to integrate high performance teams in public agencies, to create business networks and, of course, to communication and conversation with markets.
Transformation
John's enthusiasm about the enormous possibilities Internet offers to the tourism sector is contagious, and he channels it throughout transformation projects to the client's benefit. He combines his drive with the ability to induce confidence in results, supported by a long record of designing and implementing the programmes which have made Spain a destination of reference in the world - he was one of the architects of the Spanish Tourism Quality System. John is an expert on transformation scenarios, and
has impacted 1.000+ tourism SMEs and 50.000+ workers throughout his career.
About John
John is our innovation leader, keeping the teams in a permanent stage of evolution, always striving to go one step beyond...
British by birth and Latin in spirit, he's likely to be found taking a stroll with his daughter on his brand-new Brompton bike - complete with a Brooks seat, what else-, or cooking some ellaborate recipe for his friends.
John holds a degree in Business Administration by the Business School of the Instituto Social Empresarial. He is a global member of the Internet Society, and a member of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Normalization (AENOR), the American Society for Quality Control (ASQ) and the Spanish Association for Strategic Planning (AESPLAN). In his (scarce) free time he is a guest professor at graduate programs at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.
Ideation
Claudia works with multi-disciplinary teams on both sides of the ocean, adding value as an expert and as a manager. She handles often impossible agendas, and her job is to be constantly foreseeing future scenarios and keeping teams aligned with the rigorous, thorough specifications.
Collaboration
Claudia displays enormous skills for organisation. She is a seasoned manager and
co-ordinator of multiple stakeholders within projects. Her excellent communication skills enable her to adapt to every situation. She is our representative before all institutional levels, translating our clients' needs into specifications for the team.

the Quality Clubs Treasures of Michoacan, Guanajuato, Morelos, Chiapas and Puebla. She has also participated in tourism development programs across Mexico. Her experience over the years with hundreds of businesses and dozens of destinations grant her an unbeatable perspective on the reality of the Mexican tourism sector.
About Claudia
After more than a decade as idt Direct, Claudia has a deep knowledge of the institutional framework of tourism in Mexico, thus she can visualize the best decision-making scenarios for each client.
She is the perfect hostess in Mexico for all of our colleagues, sharing the wealth and depth of the Mexican culture - taking them to culinary events or enjoying The Swan Lake in Chapultepec.
Claudia has a Master's Degree in Tourism Business Administration by the Instituto de la Empresa (IE) in Madrid. She has a Bachelor's degree in International Commerce by the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores (TEC) in Monterrey, Mexico.
Ideation
Laura takes our premise of customizing each project to the limit. As an analyst, she documents her work thoroughly, yet defends that you can only understand a destination and design product when you experience it yourself. Her expert eyes cover the destination until she finds the distinctive value on which to project the future.
Collaboration
Securing support for any project from the sector and the institutions
involved can only be achieved by promoting their involvement from the project's inception. Laura holds true marathons of meetings with all stakeholders. She collects opinions, takes note of sensible issues, bounces off ideas and takes everything learned into her projects. The result: our clients' leadership is reinforced thanks to the alignment of perspectives under one shared vision.
Transformation
Laura utilizes creative models for the development of mature and emerging destinations. Her experience as a planner provides uncommon strategic insights to the development of tourism product, combining in one equation tourism intelligence, market analysis, a deep understanding of the value chain, and marketing strategies.
And she will not stop until she can produce a vision where all pieces fit.
About Laura
Laura defends the value of all work delivered to the client, in the sense that all documents must be written so they will be understood, adopted and communicated. She has the ability to work with language to express concepts in the right words and make the complex understandable.
She started her career in tourism following her passion: to travel the world. She has lived in four countries and traveled extensively to more than 30.
Avid reader and fond of music, there is a soundtrack for every project...
Laura holds a degree in Law by the University of Valencia. She is a member of the Spanish Association for Strategic Planning (AESPLAN).
Ideation

Collaboration
Ilde becomes a part of our clients' organisations to guarantee the perfect implementation of a project. With easy-going demeanor, he can handle adverse situations effectively and always succeeds at creating positive work environments.

Transformation
For organisations, evolution implies the transition from one model to the next. Ilde is highly experienced in system integration with pre-established management structures, both traditional and digital. His ability to communicate projects and results to teams and groups facilitates transformation processes.
In parallel, he has worked in the adaptation and integration of regulatory frameworks to the changing realities of the sector.
About Ildefonso
Ilde is our reference for systematic work and the guarantee for any implementation process. He never loses sight of the final objectives of a project and is capable of sorting through any situation to reach them, without ceasing to smile.
A father of three, he lives with his family in a home he himself designed for zero environmental impact.
When he travels he signs up for running events, and can tell what the main capitals of the world look like with empty streets, as he runs at sunrise.
He is an Industrial Engineer by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, specialised in business organisation. He is an internal auditor in ISO 9001:2000.
Ideation
Javier is an expert craftsman of images. He enjoys designing the most precious graphic materials to dress any proposal with details: a Website, a map or a luxury guide. The visual value he adds to any project delivered to our clients sets the difference we pursue as our trademark at theglobaldit.
Collaboration
Listening is a most important part of his work, for design must adapt to the audience it is targeting. Javier tunes in the values the client seeks to communicate and finds ways to convey these qualities in his designs. He never forgets his job is to create awe.
Transformation
Javier is specialised in the field of tourism communication and branding, where today it is not enough to capture your market: you need to create it. Since 1995 his job is to connect the image of a destination or the launching of a tourism product to the feeling of the market, creating irresistible concepts, generating intense reactions, and sparking the desire to participate in the experience. In a market saturated with messages, this is his daily challenge.
About Javier
Javier is our connection to the latest in editing, the cult to design and the trendiest. An avid designer, always with his notebooks and pencils at hand to capture in paper a moment of inspiration. Today he shares an interest for digital creation -like great artists such as David Hockney- and is using his New iPad, with his brushes and Paper53, to continue searching in his imagination.
Javier de Lucas as technical degrees in Applied Arts and Electronics and Computing.
Ideation

Collaboration
His projects are developed upon a management protocol, which allows for platform planning, design, development and testing. This approach provides a better adjustment of the final product to the specifications. He is in permanent touch with project managers, safeguarding the flow of information and key knowledge and securing proper functioning and acceptance of the product by users.
He stays calm, even through times of maximum pressure, and executes his work with amazing cleanness.
Transformation
Juan maintains we've entered the post-PC era, thus he focuses his work in promoting the transition to the new scenario. He is the one taking care of every detail. He travels into our clients' offices and gets multidisciplinary high performance teams ready
to work collaboratively in the maintenance and evolution of Websites and mobile developments, using the Scrum team model.
About Juan
Juan is our technology driver, finding and sharing the latest in the digital world. He is obsessed with staying up-to-date in the latest developments and applying them to the next project. As a true tech fanatic, he is a remorseless gadget collector and a perverse Ebay buyer.
Juan holds a technical degree in Computing Engineering by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, and is specialised in systems.
